Ganon's Tower

Zelda Cartoons

This section has summaries of all of the Zelda cartoons that aired from 1989-1990.  Unfortunately, they are no longer aired, so finding them can be difficult.

The Ringer

In this episode, Princess Zelda is judging a Hyrule amateur magicians contest.  Ganon decides to disguise himself as an amateur magician and enter the contest so that he can try to steal the Triforce of Wisdom.  He sends a keese to check and see if anyone's guarding the Triforce of Wisdom, and after finding out that Link is guarding it, he turns a lizard created by one of the other magicians into an Aquamentus.  Link hears Zelda's scream, and defeats the Aquamentus easily.  In the meantime, Ganon has taken the Triforce of Wisdom, and is escaping quickly.  Zelda asks the magician that can cast a growing spell to cast it on a weed, and it turns into a huge vine, that they use as a catapult to fling themselves in front of Ganon, who is attacked by Link.  Some stalfos show up, and Link and Zelda have to fight them.  Zelda uses her bow & arrows, while Link uses his trusty sword.  Zelda shoots a silver arrow at Ganon's arm, causing him to drop the Triforce of Wisdom.  He picks it back up, but Link throws a bomb at Ganon, and when it explodes, it knocks it back to Link.

 Cold Spells

In this one, Zelda is complaining about how dirty Link's room is, a Moby attacks while she's in there, and she puts it's nose in his smelly clothes pile, and it leaves.  Link pretends to be sick to avoid doing the cleaning Zelda wants him to do, and she buys it.  The Moby informs Ganon that they're cleaning Hyrule Castle, and Ganon decides this would be a good time to try to take the Triforce of Wisdom since Link & Zelda's guard might be down.  While Sprite's buying an orange for Link, Ganon zaps her with some magic, and all of the sudden, she's full of energy.  Sprite goes back to cleaning, and uses her magic to do it.  It's become much more powerful, and the buckets and mops begin to attack her.  Link hears the scream and comes to help her.  Ganon gets the Triforce of Wisdom while Link is saving Sprite from the attacking buckets.  Ganon is escaping Hyrule Castle with the Triforce, so Link and Zelda take off after him on horses.  Ganon makes it to the underworld, so Link takes a shortcut to get in the underworld faster.  Ganon successfully gets the Triforce of Wisdom next to the Triforce of Power, and just then, Link and Zelda fall into a big jar that they can't get out of.  A ghoma comes to attack them, and Link lets it grab his sword, and it pulls him out.  Link dodges one of Ganon's fireballs, which hits and defeats the Ghoma.  Sprite uses her magic to destroy the jar, and Zelda shoots Ganon with one of her arrow, which sends him to his Evil Jar.  Zelda takes the Triforce of Wisdom back, but unfortunately doesn't have time to take the Triforce of Power.

The Moblins Are Revolting

My favorite episode of them all.  This one starts out with Ganon sending 2 goryas to Hyrule Castle to steal the Triforce of Wisdom.  They get into Link's room (where the Triforce is), and he easily defeats them, and goes back to reading his comic book.  In the Evil Jar, the Goryas and Moblins are complaining about how they always lose when Ganon makes the plan, so they decide to take away his leadership.  Ganon has made a capture staff, which traps whoever he shoots with it's magic in a bubble that can only be destroyed by touching the Triforce of Power.  He tests it on a Moblin, and after touching him to the Triforce of Power to break the bubble, the moblin uses the staff to trap Ganon in a bubble.  He drops Ganon in a bottomless pit, which he starts falling down.  The moblin releases all of Ganon's minions from the Evil Jar.  One moblin stupidly drops the staff, so it's broken & can't be used again.  Ganon's minions decide to take revenge on Link and Zelda by attacking Hyrule Castle.  They notice a huge army of Ganon's minions outside, but quickly realize Ganon's not there, and might have problems of his own.  Meanwhile, Ganon gets smart, and uses his magic to create a bubble inside the bubble he's trapped in, and he starts to rise back out of the pit.  Back at Hyrule Castle, Ganon's minions are too stupid to mount an effective attack, and defeat themselves by stupid fighting.  Link and Zelda decide to go to Ganon's Castle to see what's going on.  Zelda wants to take the Triforce of Power, when Ganon shows up still trapped in the bubble.  Link decides to have some fun and throw Ganon at Zelda, she's not expecting it, and deflects him right onto the Triforce of Power.  Ganon is released from the bubble, and Link and Zelda are forced to retreat.  Ganon summons his minions back to his castle, and punishes them by making them clean the whole place by licking the floor with their tongues.

The White Knight

Link and Zelda are in a town when tinsuits attack them.  Link easily defeats them, when two more grab him from behind, he kicks the bow he won from the other 2 tinsuits to Zelda who defeats them.  He's about to pick up a ruby, when an octorok comes from a cave, and throws Link through a house, and then steals the ruby.  Link throws a rope around the octorok, and it drags him across the town into the woods.  A knight wearing white on a white horse shows up in front of them, and shoots an arrow at the octorok to defeat it.  His name is Prince Facade from Arcadia.  Prince Facade gives Zelda a ride back to Hyrule Castle on his horse.  Prince Facade is in Hyrule Castle getting congratulations from the King, and talking to Zelda.  Link decides to try to do something to get Zelda to notice him instead of Prince Facade, so he decides to dress up like a prince (he looks really funny  too).  He walks into the room that Zelda & Prince Facade are talking in, and he trips over his clothes, and they both laugh at him.  He storms out of the room mad, goes on a horse ride to cool off.  Ganon sends some monsters to Hyrule Castle, first some Tektites come into Zelda's room, and then a Zola picks Zelda up and starts carrying her out of the castle.  Prince Facade is following her, but when the Zola goes into a swamp, he refuses to help her since he doesn't want to get dirty.  Link hears Zelda's screams and comes to rescue her.  Just as the Zola's about to take her to the underworld, Link arrives and saves her from the Zola.  Link and Zelda get out of the swamp, and Prince Facade tries to explain himself to Zelda, so she pushes him into the swamp.

The Missing Link

Zelda is picking flowers in the castle courtyard, when moblins attack.  Link hears the scream, and attacks them.  After he defeats them, Ganon shows up.  He has a new wand that will zap anybody into his Evil Jar.  He wants to zap Zelda with it, she gets back with the Triforce of Wisdom, which she got to use against Ganon, and he shoots the wand's magic at her, she uses the power of the Triforce of Wisdom to deflect it, and it bounces around the castle for a while, and hits Link, who disappears.  Zelda's crying about Link disappearing, when she sees him in front of her.  She can see him, but she walks through him.  They quickly realize the magic was weakened enough that Link's body was put into the Evil Jar, but his spirit stayed there.  Sprite can't see Link, so Zelda starts to wonder if she's the only one who can.  Link and Zelda go to Ganon's castle to get Link's body back, and after entering, they are attacked by Stalfos.  Zelda uses Link's sword's beam attack to defeat the stalfos.  A stalfos grabs Zelda from behind, and she asks Link to do something, and the stalfos gets scared that Link is there, and it runs away.  The stalfos tells Ganon that Zelda could see Link, but he couldn't.  Ganon realizes that Zelda can only see Link if she's in love with him.  Link hears this, and he jokes with her about it, then brags about it by saying "Zelda loves me!" over and over.  Ganon hears this and realizes that they're nearby.  He sends some moblins to attack them, Zelda fights the moblins while Link runs into the Evil Jar to get his body back.  When he gets back in his body, Link forces one of the stalfos in the Evil Jar to give him a bomb, which Link uses to blow a hole in the Evil Jar which he uses to escape.  The liquid in the Evil Jar floods Ganon and his underlings out of the room, and Link defeats the moblins that are holding Zelda, and they escape back to Hyrule Castle.

Stinging a Stinger

Link is riding his horse in Hyrule, when he hears a cry for help.  Some thieves are trying to take money from an old man.  Link fights them and has absolutely no problem defeating them.  They run away, and the old man offers to give Link what he calls "the world's most magnificant sword".  Link accepts it, and gives his old sword to the old man after the man tells Link that whoever carrys the new sword is irresistable to ladies, especially princesses.  Link runs off to rescue Zelda as  he hears her scream while getting the new sword.  Some patras are chasing Zelda.  Link attacks them, but immediately the new sword breaks.  Link realizes the old man tricked him.  They are captured and taken to Ganon's castle.  The old man is there, and tries to sell the sword to Ganon, who has his moblins steal Link's sword from the old man.  Link, Zelda, and the old man are trapped in a cell with a Ghoma.  Link makes the old man pick the lock while he and Zelda fight the Ghoma.  Zelda lasso's the Ghoma, which swings her around the room, Link hits a rock hanging from the ceiling with his boomerang, which falls down, stunning the Ghoma, and Zelda ties it up.  The old man finally picks the lock, and they get out.  Zelda asks the Triforce of Wisdom how to stop Ganon without Link's sword.  It says natural weapons are the only way to defeat him without magic.  They take a bees nest, and put all of the bees into a treasure chest.  Meanwhile, Ganon is approaching, and the old man shows up and offers Ganon a present.  He claims that it is the Triforce of Wisdom.  Ganon actually believes this, and opens up the treasure chest the old man gives him, and is stung by tons of bees.  Link seizes the moment and takes his sword back.  They catapult another bees nest at Ganon, who retreats back to his castle.
