Characters
This section will explain who all of the characters in the Zelda series are. This section contains spoilers if you haven't already beaten all of the games. Link- Link is the player that you control in all of the Zelda games. He is a Hylian, and is destined to become the hero of Hyrule. Zelda- Zelda is the Princess of Hyrule, and is captured by Ganon in Zelda I, III, and V. In Zelda II, she is under a sleeping spell, and can only be awakened by the Triforce of Courage. In Zelda V, Zelda becomes the Sage of Light. The only game Zelda does not appear in is Zelda IV: Link's Awakening. Ganon (Sometimes spelled Gannon)- Ganon is the form that Ganondorf takes after being defeated by Link for the first time. The Triforce of Power warps him into an evil pig-like creature. Ganon is behind all of the Evil in Hyrule, and all of the monsters in Hyrule are under his control. If he is defeated, he can be revived if the person who defeated him (Link) has a drop of his blood falls in his ashes.Ganon appears in Zelda I, III, and V. Impa- Impa is the protector of Zelda in Zelda V. She later becomes a sage in Zelda V. In Zelda I, she is the person who talks Link into rescuing Zelda. Impa is a member of the Shiekah race, and founded Kakariko Village. Impa appears in Zelda I and V. Shiek- WARNING, MAJOR SPOILER, DO NOT READ UNLESS YOU'VE BEATEN ZELDA: Ocarina of Time!!! Shiek first appears in Zelda V after Link has taken the Master Sword, and has been frozen in time for seven years. He follows Link around in Hyrule, and teaches him the songs that warp him from dungeon to dungeon, and also gives link hints. At the end of the game, it is revealed that Sheik is really Zelda in disguise. She had been in disguise to keep Ganondorf from finding her. Ganondorf- Ganondorf is the King of the Gerudos. He becomes corrupt, and tries to seek the Triforce. After Link takes the Master Sword, he just walks through the gate to the Sacred Realm that was created, and takes the Triforce. Ganondorf transforms into Ganon at the end of Zelda V. King Harkinian- King Harkinian is the King of Hyrule and the father of Princess Zelda. The only game he appears in is Zelda III: A Link to the Past, but he makes several appearances in the cartoon series. Saria- Saria lives in the Kokiri forest, and is Link's best friend as a child. After Link beats the Forest temple in Zelda V, it is revealed that Saria is the sage of the Forest Temple. Darunia- Darunia is the leader of the Gorons, a race of rock-like creatures. He asks Link to kill King Dodongo, since he has been eating all of the Gorons who enter Dodongo's Cavern, where the best rocks to eat (yes, the Gorons eat rocks) are. In return for defeating King Dodongo, Darunia gives Link the Spiritual Stone of Fire. Darunia is also the sage of the Fire Temple. Ruto- Ruto is the Princess of the Zoras. She is trapped inside Jabu-Jabu's belly, and Link comes to rescue her. She gives Link the Spiritual Stone of water in exchange for Link agreeing to marry her when they get older. After Link defeats the Water Temple, it is revealed that Ruto is the sage of the Water Temple, and therefore Link can't marry her. Nabooru- Nabooru is a Gerudo thief, and one of the few that never followed Ganondorf. She asks Link to go through the Spirit Temple as a kid to get the Silver Gauntlets for her, but just as he gets them, she is captured by Twinrova. Nabooru is the sage of the Spirit Temple. Roam- Roam appeared in the Zelda: A Link to the Past comic that was in Nintendo Power issues 32 - 43. He first appeared in Chapter seven of the comic (NP issue 38). Like Link, his ancestors were also the Knights of Hyrule, and he sought desperately to find the Silver Arrows so that he could defeat Ganon. He came from a family of great archers, and is somewhat cocky. Ganon defeats him near the end of the comic. Agahnim- A wizard that appears in Hyrule after a time of plagues. He uses his magic to end the plagues and gain the King's trust. Later he kicks the King out and sends the seven maidens of Hyrule to the Dark World. It is later discovered that Agahnim is Ganon's alterego. Bagu- A man in Zelda II: The Adventure of Link that gives Link a note telling the river man to create a bridge for Link to cross so that he can get to Death Mountain. Sprite- The fairy that follows Link around in the Zelda cartoons. Ephermelda- The fairy that helps Link out in the Zelda comic that was in Nintendo Power issues 32 - 43. Navi- Link's guardian fairy in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.
