Ganon's Tower

YES TO WIND WAKER SEQUEL

In the last editorial here it was posted a anti Wind Waker remarks, so does this suddenly mean that every Zelda fan hates the Wind Waker? I think not. Please if you check, as Matt mentioned, EGM magazine than you shall notice that it was hindered from its Platinum award by it getting a 10,10,9.5.

Now the last editorial had a lot of flaws in it,

1.Matt mentioned that the original Zelda, AOL and ALTTP which all happen hundreds maybe thousands of years after the Wind Waker, so that gives Hyrule plenty of time to dry up, or we’ll learn what will happen in the sequel. Oh and yes Link did travel through time, how else do you suppose that he could become a child and an adult? Matt only mentioned that he was trapped in suspended animation that’s why he became old, but how do you explain that he became a child again? Easy, time travel.

Here another flaw in Matt’s article, he says that the great sea is the same as Hyrule field. Not true the Article (EGM 165) states that the great sea is as big as Hyrule itself, counting, the Kokiri forest, haunted wasteland, desert colossus and everything else you can think of.

Matt also pointed out that it got record breaking Pre-order sales and I quote from him

Sure it got a large number of preorders, but if it wasn't for Master Quest, it definitely would've only been a fraction of that number.”  Sure it was a good bonus having Ocarina of Time but I have a feeling that even if there wasn’t OOT, that there would have still been remarkable preorders. The Wind Waker was something new, something fresh, and something that no one has ever seen before. That is what Nintendo does they make revolutionary leaps in there gaming. Examples:

1.      They literally made action adventure gaming with OOT

2.      The made Platforming with Mario

3.      They made First person Adventure with Metroid Prime

4.      Now they have made the first Anime game, which can show the Characters emotions so well that you know who they are and what the feel just bye seeing them.

Another thing Matt pointed out was the story, which I think a few of us were either laughing or just rolling our eyes. Again I quote

The only reason Link goes on this adventure is to save Arryl. He goes to the Forsaken Fortress, gets thrown out, goes to Dragon Roost Island, calms Valoo and gets Din's Pearl, goes to the Forest Haven, rescues Makar and gets Nayru's Pearl, goes to Windfall Island and eavesdrops on the pirates, gets the bombs, sails all the way back to Outset Island (how many of you weren't irritated by THAT!?), gets Farore's Pearl from Jabun, puts the Pearls in their places,
completes the Tower of the Gods, gets the Master Sword, returns to the Forsaken Fortress, rescues the kidnapped girls, and beats the Helmaroc King. That would pretty much be the end of the game because Link accomplished what he set out for.

But no, he has to run into Ganon, get rescued, return to Hyrule, meet the king, then go through two more dungeons, get the Triforce Charts, get them decoded by Tingle (shudder), find the Triforce Shards, return to Hyrule, beat Ganon's Tower, defeat Puppet Ganon, and defeat Ganon”.

As most who played the game probably noticed that there is a few minor problems with that story

1.      After Link gets thrown out of the forsaken fortress he meets the king of red lions who puts Link on the quest of rescuing his sister and defeating Ganondorf.

2.      He got the pearls mixed up.

Next Matt got at the graphics which were one of the best parts of the game, criticizing Ganondorf about not being creepy. Are you telling me that at the very end when Ganondorf took out his two swords and did the now famous quote,

“See how much your precious Triforce is worth!”

None of you said to yourself, “oh…crap…” I know I did. And a Matt, no offence but you had to be a complete wuss if you think that Phantom Ganon was hard in OOT.

On to the final Boss, Ganondorf, two ways you can beat him.

1.      Play cheep and block until either Zelda hits him with a light arrow or Ganondorf jumps up in the air and you counter.

2.      Fight Ganondorf with your sword, make him block until he opens a counter, you get a lot more damage this way but it’s worth it.

So after reading this I hope that I have shown some of you that the wind waker was a great game and that it seems Matt was bending a few strings so that his argument about protesting to the wind waker seemed more believable.
