Enemies
This section deals with the
different enemies Link will encounter during his quest. The chart
is divided into sections with the enemy's name & picture, how
to defeat it, and what you can expect to get for defeating this
enemy (if anything).
Overworld Enemies

 Tektike
|
Tektikes jump all around the screen. To
defeat one, all you need to do is hit it with
your sword. |
Red tektites usually give 1 rupee or a heart,
and blue give 1 or 5 rupees. |
 Octorok
|
Octoroks are best defeated with the sword. |
Red octoroks usually give hearts or rupees,
and blue octoroks give bombs or hearts. |
 Leever
|
Leevers burrow
underground, just wait for them to come up and
hit them with your sword. |
Red leevers give rupees, blue leevers give
bombs or hearts. |
 Peahat
|
Peahats can only be damaged when they're
completely motionless. Wait for it to stop
moving, then attack with your sword. |
Peahats usually give hearts. |
 Moblin
|
Moblins can be defeated with the sword |
Red Moblins give hearts, or rupees.
Blue Moblins give bombs or rupees. |
 Armos
Knights
|
Armos knights do not attack until you touch
them. You can defeat them using your sword. Some
Armos knights move to reveal hidden passageways. |
Armos knights usually give you hearts for
defeating them. |
 Ghini
|
Ghini are found in the graveyard. There is
one on the screen to start out. This is the only
one that can be damaged. If you touch a
gravestone, another Ghini will appear. The only
way to defeat the Ghini is to find the one that
can be damaged, and all the others will be
defeated with it. |
Ghini reward you with rupees, hearts, fairys,
and clocks. |
 Lynel
|
Lynel can be defeated with the sword. It is
best to stun them with your boomerang first since
they can throw their swords at you. A magical
shield will deflect their sword beams. |
Red Lynels reward you with hearts and blue
Lynels reward you with bombs. |
 Zola
|
To defeat Zola, you must either wait for it
to come near the shore and attack with your
sword, or use a beam attack. If you have the
wooden sword, it will take 2 hits to defeat Zola.
If you have either of the other two swords, it
only takes one hit. |
Zolas reward you with hearts. |
 Rock
|
Impossible to Defeat, just avoid it. They
fall near Death Mountain. |

|
Use the sword. If you have the White Sword or

defeating a Zol. If you have the Wooden Sword, it

|

 Rope
|
Ropes can only move vertically or
horizontally (not diagonal). If you are in the
path of a Rope, it moves faster to attack you.

 Vire
|
Vire are similar to Gels in that they give a
reward only if attacked with the White Sword or
Magic Sword. If you use the Wooden Sword Vire

|

|
Be careful around Wall Masters. If they grab

dungeon. Use the boomeerang to stun them, then
attack with your sword. |

 Darknut
|
Darknuts can only be attacked from behind or
the side. Use the sword to attack them. It's a good idea to have
water of life around when fighting them, especially in the
later levels when you fight them a lot. |

 Like Like
|
If a Like Like grabs you, it eats your Magic
Shield (if you have one). Use the Sword to defeat

 Patra
|
To defeat a Patra, you must defeat the
smaller Patras orbiting it first. Do this by
attacking with your sword. Then you can attack
the larger Patra in the center. |

 Bubble
|
Can't Defeat. Red Bubbles make it impossible
to swing your sword until you touch a Blue
Bubble, drink some Water of Life, or find a
Fairy. Blue Bubbles allow you to use your sword
again, and regular Bubbles won't let you use your
sword for about 5 seconds |
