Ganon's Tower

The Legend of Zelda: The Chosen One's True Destiny
By Link of Hylian Legends of Zelda

Prologue

Link laid the Master Sword to rest and closed the Door of Time by removing the three Spiritual Stones and returned them to their proper owners. He could hardly imagine that no one even knew that he was the Hero of Time since what he did seven years from now didn't even exist. He somehow still had the knowledge of his quest. He knew had to see the Princess Zelda.

He did the same old sneaking past the guards and arrived in the courtyard where the princess Zelda was standing by the window just as he remembered. He walked up to her and she turned around. They stared at each other for a long time not muttering a word. Link finally said, "Hello. Zelda do you remember me?" She replied, "Link, I knew you would come." Somehow they both knew that since they still had the remembered what happened, their quest for peace was not over yet. (Note: Link and Zelda are the age of ten.)

Chapter 1: Life After Ganon and The Dream of Destiny

That same day, Link and Zelda went to throne room for Link to meet her father. "Father this is my friend Link" said Zelda.

"Nice to meet you Link. Where are you from?" said the king.

"I'm from the forest. I live with the Kokiri" said Link.

"You seem like you are an adventurous person Link," said the king.

"Your majesty I must be going home now if I am to make it back to the forest before night fall" Link stated.

"Father, would it be all right if Link stayed the night at the castle?" Zelda asked.

"Why I don't see why not" his majesty exclaimed.

"Thank you, sir" said Link.

"Impa, please show our guest to his room" said the king.

Link walked off with Impa to his room for the night and fell quickly asleep. A hero needs to get his rest especially when he saved Hyrule. Mean while back in the throne room, Zelda and her father were talking about Link.

"Zelda, I have seen this kid before somewhere but can't quite remember where. He seems to have some kind of magical spirit inside of him like he was a hero or something of that nature" said the king.

"Yes, he does father. It seems so strange but I've only known him for a few days and I feel like I've known him for years. Wait I have..." said Zelda, stopping herself from revealing him as the Hero of Time.

"What were you saying?" said the king.

"Nothing. I'm getting a little tired; I think I'll go to bed. Good night father" said Zelda.

Zelda strolled off to her room, which was right next to Link's room. She opened the door a little and peered in. Link was fast asleep and she walked over to his bed. Zelda said, "Good night Link and sweet dreams."

The next morning, Link went to breakfast early and headed off for the forest. When he arrived he was happy to see all his friends again. He went up to his tree house and sat in his little comfortable chair, when Saria came up behind him and scared him right out of his seat.

"Saria don't do that to me again. I hate how you always scare me out of my chair. Then I fall face first on the ground. Any way, nice to see you again" said Link.

"Link, where were you last night? I was worried about you. Since Ganon has gone things have gotten back to normal" said Saria.

"I was a the castle and spent the night there. You mean that you remember what happened too. That is strange. Zelda remembers it too" said Link.

"Wow, it seems strange that we are the only people who remember what happened. I asked all the Kokiri but they don't even remember the name Ganon," said Saria.

"Saria, I'm worried. Even though Ganon is gone, I still feel that an evil presence is hanging in the skies watching us over Hyrule. Waiting to make its move and attack it" Link said nervously.

"Link, don't worry about it. Everything is going to be all right," said Saria.

"I hope your right Saria for all of our sakes. I'll see you later, Saria" Link said.

"See you later, Link," said Saria, walking away.

That night Link had strange dream. Blue flames surrounding him from ever side engulfed him. He was transported into a strange room and stood face to face with an unknown being. This being was about Link's height and all green colored with a strange looking face. His face was half the head of a lion and half of an eagle. He began to speak to Link.

"Link, my name is Midus. I am the Guardian of the Temple of Heroes, which is situated, in the far reaches of this land known as Hyrule. This is only a dream but I want to tell you of your true destiny. In the distant future, you will have to under take a challenge that will change your life forever. An evil force will engulf Hyrule and you, the chosen one, will have to again raise the Master Sword and defend Hyrule. You defeated Ganon just as I thought you would. He however is nothing compared to what this evil force can do. Even the Triforce of Courage won't be powerful enough to defeat this evil force. You will need a power greater than any beast or magician can withhold," he said. Midus walked on to a platform and handed Link the Ocarina of Time. "You may need this," said Midus.

"What exactly is this power?" Link asked.

"You will now when the time comes" Midus told him eagerly and waved him good-bye.

Link awoke from his dream and thought that it was just a nightmare. Then he felt something poking him in the side. It was the Ocarina of Time. He felt a cold presence crawl up his spine. He knew now that his quest for peace and justice wasn't over. His true destiny was about to unfold.

Chapter 2: Evil Arrives in Hyrule

Seven years later...

Link had grown a lot over these past seven years. He had become stronger and had mastered his art in battle tactics and swordsmanship. He left the forest about a year ago. He now lives in the castle; he got to big for his tree house in the Kokiri Forest, and serves as the king's advisor. He has grown quite fond of Link and cares for him a lot. Link and Zelda had grown fond of each other as friends too. They always go for horseback rides in Hyrule Field and sit out in the courtyard to watch the birds chirp.

Link awoke one morning and went to breakfast. Zelda was sitting there just finishing up. "Zelda, would you like to go horseback riding today?" Link asked.

"Sure Link. Let me get some things together and we can head off to the stables," said Zelda. She packed up some things and they headed down to the stables. Link mounted Epona and Zelda mounted Pegasus, who she calls Peg for short. They rode to Lake Hylia and had lunch by the lakeside.

"Zelda, this lake is so beautiful. I really love coming here and watching the sun. Seeing the glare on the water with purity" Link said as he finished his lunch.

"I know Link, it makes me feel so good to come here. Thanks for bringing me here today. I think we better get back now because it's getting late and I don't want father to worry" Zelda told him as she mounted Peg.

They rode off for the castle. They stabled the horses and walked back to the castle. Link and Zelda sat in the courtyard that night to watch the sun go down below the trees far to west. They both went off to bed afterwards. That night a dark mist settled over the castle.

The next morning, the guards alerted the king that a stranger had arrived at the castle and demanded to see him. "Let him in," said the king.

"Yes, sir" said one of the guards. He opened the door and an evil figure appeared in the throne room.

"Your majesty, my name is Prince Lance of the country of Cyberia. I've come on formal business to talk you about our two countries relations. My country has been torn apart by civil war. My brother gathered an army to oppose my Imperial country and tried to over throw me. I crushed his army and beheaded him. I have come to you in defense of my country. The nearby countries have declared war upon Cyberia and my army is in ruins. I need your help to defend it against the evil there" he said.

"Lance, I have no business fighting a war for you" said the king angrily.

"Sir, this is a matter of security of Hyrule. They will sure attack and conquer Hyrule after they have finished with Cyberia" said Lance in evil like tone.

"You have a point. If we are to ally in your cause you must protect Hyrule if it ever is come under attack" said the king.

"Very well then. I thank you," said Lance.

"Then we must be off, Impa gather my army and prepare them for the journey. Bring Link in here at once" said the king.

Link was enjoying his slumber when Impa woke him in a terrified manner. "Link wake up the king wants to see you immediately" she said.

Link went to the throne room where the king, Zelda, and Lance were waiting for him. "What is going on?" he asked.

"Link there is a war going on in Cyberia and Hyrule is going to protect it," said Zelda with a tear falling down her cheek.

"Link I need you come with me and help fight. You're my most trusted servant and the best warrior in the entire army. I now I'll be all right with you at my side" said the king happily.

"So you must be this great hero everyone talks about around here called Link," said Lance.

"Yes and who might you be?" asked Link.

"I'm Prince Lance of Cyberia. I wish thee luck in battle" Lance said.

Link and Zelda left the throne room. She helped him prepare for his departure. "Link I want you to know that no matter what happens I'll be thinking of you every minute that your gone. Be careful and don't get yourself killed. I couldn't bare the agony of losing you" Zelda said as she started to cry.

"Zelda, I'll be fine. Why are you crying?" Link asked.

"No reasons Link so don't worry. I'll see you when you get back right?" she asked sounding sad.

"You can count on it. Good-bye Zelda" Link said as he rode off into the sunset with the Hylian Knights by the king's side.

Link couldn't figure out why Zelda was crying over his leaving. They had been friends for seven years and practically saw each other every day. Then it hit him, she was worried about him getting hurt because she like being with him and wanted things to remain that way. Link felt a strange feeling that he had never experienced before. He had strong feelings to for Zelda and didn't want her to get hurt. Link was falling in love.

Chapter 3: A Fierce War

The Hylians arrived in Cyberia early the next day. The enemy began its attacks at noon. They had the Hylians out numbered but their weapons were not as superior as the Hylians. They attacked in waves and it was working in the beginning but the Hylians fought back killing wave after wave of the enemy. The Hylians suffered minor causalities but nothing severe.

The last wave of soldiers came and attacked but fell as Link used his famous spin attack, which left five soldiers dead on each attack. The rest of the soldiers retreated leaving their leader to fend against Link. He took a swing a Link with his sword and missed him by a mile and then Link swung his sword into his side where he fell and never got back up.

"Good work Link. We have defeated the enemy with minor losses. Let's go home," said the king.

Then all of a sudden, an arrow came down from the mountainside striking into the king's neck and blood gushed out of the wound. He fell to the ground were his death soon loomed.

"Link please do me a favor," said the king trying to talk with an arrow sticking out of his neck.

"Sure anything, you name it. Please don't leave us your majesty" said Link beginning to cry.

"Link, watch over Zelda for me. I know how you feel about her. I see how your eyes are filled with happiness when you are with her. Her eyes show the same expression. Though she doesn't admit it, she loves you Link and I know you love her. I give thee this. Only open it when the time is right. Your heart is strong my boy. I will miss thee. Tell Zelda I love her and please carry out my request. Good-bye" said the king as he rolled over and died.

"NO, WHO EVER DID THIS WILL PAY" said Link in a fierce tone.

The army left Cyberia and headed back for Hyrule with the king's body in Link's arms.

"Everything is going to plan. Now that the king is dead I will marry the princess and take Hyrule for myself. I just have to get rid of this Link. The princess is in love with him. Once he is out of the way nothing will stop me," Lance was telling one of his advisors.

Chapter 4: The King's Funeral and Zelda's Confession

Link returned to Hyrule the next day. He went to the castle to see Zelda. She was watching from her balcony all the knights returning from battle. The people of Castle Town were cheering at their victory. When Zelda saw Link alive her heart let up a huge amount of pressure. She rushed down to greet him.

"Link you're all right" throwing her arms around him.

"Zelda, I told that I don't lie. I came back in one piece. I really missed you," said Link, as he was so happy to see her.

"Where's father?" she asked him.

"Zelda, he was killed in battle. Someone hit him with an arrow" Link said with remorse.

"No it can't be. You were supposed to protect him. Stay away from me. You call yourself a hero but heroes are supposed to protect the ones close to them," said Zelda and she ran out of the room crying and angry.

"Zelda I didn't mean..." Link tried to say but she was all ready gone.

They had the king's funeral that very day. Thousands of people came to pay their respects to their fallen leader. Hyrule was in a state of sadness and turmoil. Who was going to rule the country? Zelda sat beside her father all day but said nothing. Link sat across from her and also said nothing. They didn't even look at each other. Link was feeling so much guilt that he ran away to the forest that night. Zelda couldn't sleep much that night but when see finally feel asleep she had a dream.

She was standing with her father in a white room.

"Father is it you? Then your not really dead?" she asked him as she hugged him to death.

"Yes, Zelda its me. I'm dead though. This is just a dream you are having. However, I came to ask you why you are mad at Link?" he asked being curious.

"Father you are dead because he didn't protect you like he was supposed to. You should have never gone in the first place" Zelda stated still angry at Link. She looked up into his eyes and began to cry.

"Zelda, listen to me. Link was finishing off a battle with the leader of those warriors we fought. The arrow hit me before he could even notice it coming. There was nothing he could have done. Link is a true hero to me and I'll never forget his loyal service to me. If I had a son, I would want Link to be my son," the king said crying while holding his daughter in his arms.

"I'm sorry father. I guess I over looked him. I was just a loss to hear you had been killed. I miss you and will never see you alive again. How can I go on with my life?" she asked still crying.

"Zelda, your life is just beginning. You may losing a part of it but soon you will gain a new part" the king said happily.

"What do you mean?" she asked puzzled.

"Zelda you must become the new leader of Hyrule. You will have many wonderful years ahead of you. My time has come," he said.

"I can't rule Hyrule without you" Zelda said sadly.

"Zelda you won't rule it alone" said the king.

"What are you saying father, is there someone who be there with me?" she asked curious to know what he was getting at.

"Zelda, I think you know who will be in your future," said the king in a nice fashion.

"You mean Link?" she asked her father while staring into his eyes.

"Yes, you may not know this but I watch you and him. I can see the love you two share even though both of you haven't confessed it to each other. I all ready spoke to Link about the matter. He loves you Zelda. I don't know how you feel about him but I know you have some feelings for him. So how do you feel about him?" he asked.

"Father, it seems all strange but you are right. I've known him for a long time and never really felt like this until he went off to battle. I had a fear of losing him. I guess it is because I love him," she confessed.

"Now you must confess your love to him and he will do the same. I gave him a letter explaining what I wish for you two. Ask him for it. It is your destiny and his for you two to be together forever. Now go my daughter and do what you feel is right. Good-bye" said the king as Zelda awoke from dream.

She ran to Link's room to find him but he was nowhere to be found. She asked Impa were he went and she told him he went back to the Kokiri Forest. She got dressed and rushed as fast as she could to the forest.

Chapter 5: Link and Zelda's Destiny

Link walked into the Lost Woods wondering where to go from here. Zelda hated him, the king was dead and no one was left to lead Hyrule. He could feel the climate of evil passing. He began to tremble in fear at the evil force that would soon engulf Hyrule. Then all of a sudden, Midus appeared before him.

"Link it is me Midus" he said.

"What do you want?" Link asked.

"I have come to give the last piece of information you need to fulfill your true destiny as the Hero of Time. The evil force I told you about is about to invade Hyrule. This evil force can only be defeated by one power that I told you about" he stated.

"What is this power and where do I find it?" Link asked.

"You are the only one who knows what this power is and this power will come from with in you Link" Midus said.

"I can't fight now. I have to many problems as it is" Link said feeling discouraged.

"I know you are feeling discouraged right now but when the Triforce of Courage mark glows on the back of your hand that is when you will have the courage to fight again. When the time comes for the final showdown with this evil force. Open the Door of Time and retrieve the Master Sword. Only when the Master Sword glows blue will you have that special power to defeat this force and become the true Hero of Time you are destined to be. The first challenge with Ganon was really more of a test compared to now" Midus hinting at the difficulty this task will be considering how hard Ganon was to defeat.

"Midus, I can feel the evil right now. Who is this evil?" Link asked.

"You will know when the time comes. I have one more thing to tell before I go. Watch over your loved ones closely. They may be the key to unlocking your hidden power. Remember though, this evil knows you inside and out. It knows your abilities and weaknesses. It can turn your hidden power against you. Keep that in mind. I'll watch over you and when this is all over you will be honored at the Temple of Heroes by me. Good luck Hero of Time" Midus said as he disappeared.

Link started to think about what to do from hear. His courage had fallen since the war and the death of the king.

"I must never give up. I will defeat you evil force," Link said out loud.

Just then Zelda walked up behind him.

"Link are you all right?" Zelda asked.

"Zelda, how did you find me and why are you here?" Link asked.

"I missed you and just wanted to say I was sorry for what I said to you today. I had a dream and my father appeared and told me everything I need to know about the future of Hyrule with him gone" she said looking at Link with a smile.

"Zelda, I..." Link tried to say but got cut off.

"Link, I have to confess something to you. We have known each other for seven years and we see each other every day and we do things together all the time as friends. I never had these feelings for you until I realized that you might get hurt in the war. I have to confess to you that I don't want to be friends any more Link" Zelda said, beginning to cry.

"Zelda, you mean you never want to see me any more?" Link asked, as if he was afraid she was serious.

"No, Link not like that. I love you Link and my feelings for you are more than just friends. I want to spend the rest of my life with you. I can't bare the agony of being away from you more than a minute. How do you feel?" She asked him hoping for the same response.

"Zelda, I feel the same way. I love you too. I can't live without you being here with me" Link said crying.

Zelda ran over to Link and fell into his arms. They kissed each other for the first time. They both could fell love when they kissed. Somehow they both knew that one day they would be together.

"Link, my father gave you a letter did he not?" she asked.

"Yes, he did" Link said.

"Could you read it to me?" Zelda requested.

The Letter reads: To Link and Zelda. When you read this letter, which is when you both will know that you two are in love. Zelda, Hyrule will need a new king some day to rule by your side. I want you to chose on my behalf. If everything is as I've foreseen then I know whom you shall wed, Link. Link I want to marry my daughter and protect her on my behalf. I want you two to spend the rest of your lives together and rule Hyrule together. I regret not being able to see the wedding but I can imagine it. I saw it coming in you two for seven years. This is both of your destinies to marry and be together forever. Why do think I asked Link to move into the castle? So I could test my theory. I was right and you know it. From the way you two lay your eyes on each other all the time that is how I knew. So you have my permission to be married. Link you will be king now. Use the power that you have now and expand your love for Zelda to where you two will never be separated!
.

I entreat thee,
Father

"Link he is right you know. We are destined to be together forever. Let's get married right away," Zelda said.

"I couldn't agree more" Link said happily.

They rode back to the castle just in time for breakfast.

Chapter 6: A Day at Lake Hylia

Link and Zelda rode out early the next morning to Lake Hylia. They ate breakfast by the lakeside and watched the sunrise. Zelda was lying in Link's arms and they were talking about the wedding.

"Zelda, there is something I have to tell you before we get married" Link said.

"What is it Link?" she asked.

"A man by the name of Midus came to me. He told me that an evil force will attack Hyrule soon and I'm the only one who can defeat it. It is more powerful than Ganon and the only way beat it is to find a hidden power I have with in me. He also said to watch over loved ones closely for they may be the key to this power. I don't really understand what that means but I hope I can figure this out. I love you with all my heart but I must accomplish this task before we can get married. If I were to die it wouldn't have been right to get married first. Please watch your back from now on until I can discover who this thing is" Link said.

"I will Link. Don't say that about dying. We are going to win and we'll get married right afterwards if that is what you desire" Zelda said.

"We better get back soon in time for dinner" Link said.

"You are always right Link. Remember that I'll still love you no matter what happens. All right?" she asked.

"All right, let's go," Link said apprehensively.

They rode back to Hyrule Castle and had dinner. Zelda rose up and announced their plans for the future.

"People of Hyrule, as you know my father is gone and we all are at a great loss. We must prepare for the future. As you know, I will become queen now. I want to make a formal announcement that I have found the man who will one day be your new king. I have chosen, with my father's permission, to marry Link. I have known him for a long time and he and I have been friends forever but I now realize that I love him and he loves me. We are to wed after Link has finished a special task he needs to do. I love him and can't see myself ruling without him since he is the man that I will marry. So thank you all and three cheers to a glorious future of this great land" Zelda said finishing her announcement, and then drank to Hyrule's future.

The people cheered when they heard the good news. Link was the most beloved person in the land after all and Zelda was a great leader as well. The future seemed set. Then all of a sudden the skies turned black and it began to rain. There right across from the table from where Link and Zelda were sitting, was Lance from Cyberia.

Chapter 7: Evil Shows His Face

"Is there a reason you are here Lance?" Link asked looking like he was about to kill him.

"I congratulate you two on your engagement but I'm afraid your marriage can't happen. You see Link, I know about Midus and I'm this evil force he was talking about. Now make it easy on yourself Link and leave Hyrule so I won't have to kill you. Zelda and Hyrule belongs to me now and there is nothing you can do to stop me" Lance said laughing in an evil tone.

"I don't think so, Lance. You won't get Zelda or Hyrule. I kill you before you can even try" Link said as he picked up a sword and charged at Lance. Lance fired a ball of dark magic at him and it hit Link. He fell to ground wounded.

"LINK!" Zelda yelled as she ran to his side.

"I can't move Zelda" Link said in pain.

"Don't move, Link. Soldiers seize this fiend," Zelda said commanding the soldiers.

The soldiers ran to arrest Lance and were all hit by his dark magic balls. They fell to the floor motionless.

"Now do you see princess that not even the Hero of Time can stop me? Now come with me at my side we will rule the world together" Lance commanded.

"I'll never rule beside you" Zelda lashed out with anger.

"Then I have no choice. Your coming with me whether you like it or not." Lance said, firing a ball of magic at her and capturing her in a dark crystal sphere. Then he cast Link away to the middle of the Haunted Wasteland, the desert, where he was to wander about without finding a way back.

"Now that Link is gone forever, I'm going to build my castle here and start my empire" Lance stated with an evil chuckle at the end.

"You'll never get away with this Lance" Zelda said.

"I all ready have princess," he said.

Just then Hyrule Castle vanished and an evil fortress, similar to Ganon's Castle, emerged in its place. All the people of Hyrule were turned into evil serpent demons to do Lance's evil doing.

"All hail Lord Lance of Hyrule," said the demons.

All the towns and villages turned into rumble, Castle Town became a slave prison, Hyrule Field became a burning wasteland, the Lon Lon Ranch was turned into a training ground for demons, Lake Hylia was all dried up, the Gorons, Zoras, and Kokiri were enslaved and there now stood Lance's Fortress. Zelda remained in the high tower, known as Lance's Tower, a prisoner of Lance.

"Now see your beautiful Hyrule princess. Soon you will realize my power and you will rule beside me," Lance demanded.

"I'll never join your cause Lance. Do what you want to me but I'll never side with you" Zelda said.

"Very well, I have my ways of persuading people. Just you wait" Lance said.

Hyrule seemed to be at an end.

Chapter 8: Link Finds His Courage

Link wander hopelessly through the desert. He couldn't see any thing at all. The sand was blowing to hard to even move. It was piercing his eyes and he fell to the ground with no strength left in him. He crawled as far as he could until he reached the Spirit Temple. He took refuge inside and rested himself all night. Later that night Midus appeared before him.

"Link wake up, it's me Midus" he said.

"Midus, Lance is the evil force and he's got Zelda but I have no strength left to fight him" Link said exhausted.

"Link, Hyrule has turned into a land of evil again. You must save Hyrule and Zelda. All the people have been turned into demons. You must find the Temple of Time and retrieve the Master Sword from the Pedestal of Time. You must hurry time is running out. Use the Ocarina of Time and make your way back to Hyrule. I know your have the courage. Lance is using the Triforce of Wisdom to destroy Hyrule and Zelda's spirit. You must stop him. The Goddesses will be with you always as I too" Midus said as he faded away.

"Midus is right, Zelda and all of Hyrule are counting on me. I love Zelda and I will not break that love no matter what happens just like she said" Link said bravely.

Suddenly Link began to feel the strength flow through him. He picked up the Mirror Shield that he hid in the Spirit Temple. He fought his way to Hyrule Field and through the fire to Castle Town.

"What has happened to the Temple of Time?" Link asked, seeing that it was gone.

He got out the Ocarina of Time and played the Prelude of Light song and was warped back to the Temple of Time. It stood in one piece. Oddly, the Spiritual Stones were in their hollows even though Link returned them. Wasting no time, he played the Song of Time, which opened the Door of Time.

"I hope this still works," Link said hinting at the Master Sword in the Pedestal of Time.

Link pulled out the Master Sword. He now had the tools he needed to fight Lance expect for his hidden power.

All he could say at the moment was, "here I come Lance."

Chapter 9: The Battle of Time-Good Versus Evil

Link arrived at Lance's Fortress after beating the heck out of those demons. He went all the way up to the top of the tower. He broke through the door with the Master Sword and stood face to face with Lance.

"Lance now its time for you to die" Link said with anger.

"Oh, if it isn't the Hero of Time, Link. I thought I got rid of you," he stated.

"Well guess again, Lance. I'm back and you are the one who is going this time," Link yelled.

"You know Link this time I'm not going to be so easy on you like I was last time. Take this," said Lance as he fired a magic ball at Link. Link blocked it with his shield and repelled back and hit Lance stunning him.

"Feel the power of the Master Sword you evil fiend" Link said as he struck Lance in the chest and Lance fell to the ground dead.

Zelda's sphere dissolved and she ran over to Link.

"Link you did it. You defeated Lance and saved me," Zelda said as she hugged and kissed Link.

"I'm just glad you are all right," Link said as he held on to Zelda's hand.

Suddenly Lance rose and spoke.

"You think it's over just like that Link, guess again" Lance said revealing his true form.

He changed into a fire breathing dragon and grabbed Zelda in his talons.

"Link help me, I can't break free from his evil grasp" Zelda said.

"Link, I now realize that I have under estimated you. Your power is strong but your true power will be your down fall. Hear my name and tremble; I am Drago, the Dark Master of the world" said Drago.

"You have been a problem for to long, Drago. Now it's time to say good night," Link said as he struck his sword into the dragon's tail.

Drago swung and hit Link with his tail knocking him to the ground. Then he used his evil fire breath but Link held it with his shield. It became too powerful for him to handle and he was knocked against the wall.

"LINK!" Zelda said in shock.

"Link, your courage is strong and you will never give up. I can see that now. So I must take away that courage by riding you of the source of that courage. Say good-bye to your love" Drago said. Drago stabbed Zelda in the chest with his talons and she fell dying to the ground.

"NO, ZELDA!" Link said as he rushed her side.

"Link, I know I'm going to die soon. I just want to tell you even though our destinies can't be fulfilled as lovers; you must fulfill yours as the Hero of Time. I will always love you and you only no matter where I go from here. Please save Hyrule. I LOVE YOU, good-bye" Zelda said as she passed away.

"No, you have taken away the one person in my life that I can't let go of" Link said in horror.

"Now realize this Link you have nothing left to live for so let me finish you and I'll spare you the pain and suffering" Drago said.

"Link, this is Midus. Think, your hidden power is near so find it and defeat Drago," he said.

"Zelda, she is my hidden power. My heart is the power from with in! I love Zelda and my love for her will give me the power to defeat you Drago" Link said courageously. Suddenly Link saw the Triforce of Courage appear on his hand and it began to glow a blood red. It glowed faster and faster the more courageous Link got.

"Now it is time to say good-bye, Drago" Link said.

"Come and try me," Drago said.

The Master Sword began to glow blue. That was when Link knew he had the power to beat Drago. Using his shield to block Drago's fire attacks, Link jumped into the air and did a spin attack with the glowing sword. When he landed, Drago's head fell to the ground and his body fell dead with it.

"Victory is mine Drago. I had the courage and the power to defeat you. That was for Zelda and Hyrule" Link said.

Link walked over to Zelda's body and held her in his arms crying. Nothing disappeared; all the evil still remained. Then Midus appeared.

"Link its not over yet. Zelda lied to you when she said her and your destinies couldn't be fulfilled," he said.

"What do you mean?" Link asked.

"Give me the Master Sword. I dub thee True Hero of Time. The True Hero of Time, the chosen one who I now chose, gets one wish. Any thing you wish its yours. I know what you want. Use the Kiss of Love to awaken your sleeping beauty and live happily ever after," said Midus as Link found the power from with in to use the Kiss of Love on Zelda.

Midus vanished and Link kissed Zelda on the lips and she awakened from her slumber.

"Link, what happened? I thought I was dead?" Zelda asked.

"You were but I defeated Drago with the power of the heart. Our love was the hidden power that vanquished Drago and I used my power to awaken you with the Kiss of Love" Link said as he hugged and kissed Zelda. Grabbing her as she got up.

"Well, what next?" Zelda asked.

"I don't know but as long as you are alive we'll figure something out" Link said not knowing what to do next.

Chapter 10: Destiny Achieved

Link and Zelda walked out of the castle and looked at Hyrule in ruins.

"Zelda use the Triforce of Wisdom to change everything back to normal" Link suggested.

She used all her power with the Triforce and everything went back to normal. Peace once again reigned in Hyrule. The next day Link got a celebration bigger than anything he had ever imagined. People came from far and wide to see the Hero of Time. Then after the ceremony, Link and Zelda went to the Temple of Heroes.

"Link on behalf of all the heroes I dub thee a supreme member of Temple of Heroes. Thank you and Zelda for saving Hyrule again from the likes of evil. You two will make great rulers and I wish the best marriage life has to offer" Midus said thanking them.

"Link, we must be going now. Tomorrow is a big day for both of you us" Zelda said.

"Your right Zelda, thanks for everything Midus" Link said to his friend.

"Any time Link" Midus said saying good-bye.

They returned to castle just before sun down. They fell fast asleep. For little did they know what tomorrow was to hold?

The next day, Link and Zelda got ready for their wedding right at the crack of dawn. It was to be held at high noon in the Temple of Time. Noon came around and Link was getting nervous at the alter. The music began to play and Zelda walked in the most beautiful dress Link had ever seen. She walked down the aisle and came up to Link and took his hand.

The priest, who happened to be Midus, began the ceremony. Link and Zelda stared into each other's eyes as they listened to Midus. They knew that this is what their destinies were. Once they were married, their destinies would be fulfilled.

"Link, do you take Zelda as your wife, to have and to hold in sickness and in health until death do you part?" Midus asked.

"I do" Link said.

"And do you Zelda, take Link as your husband, to have and to hold in sickness and in health until death do you part?" Midus asked.

"I do" Zelda said.

"I now pronounce you husband and wife," Midus said with a cheer. "You may kiss the bride."

Link kissed Zelda for a long time, almost five minutes, as the people cheered for the newly weds.

"Long live Link and Zelda" some said.

While others said, "long live King Link and Queen Zelda, long live peace in Hyrule."

After Link and Zelda finished the kiss they waved to all their loyal people and waited for them to leave.

"Zelda, I have to do something before we leave" Link said.

"All right" Zelda said confused.

Link laid the Master Sword to rest again and closed the Door of Time.

"One day that door will need to be opened again and when that time comes the Master Sword will be in my hands again. Until then, here is the Ocarina of Time" Link said as he started to cry.

"Link what is wrong. I'm not sending you home this time. We'll never be separated again. We're together forever. I love my husband, Link, King of Hyrule" Zelda said happily.

"It just that I love that sword. However, I don't love it as much as you. Zelda, Queen of Hyrule" he said.

They left the Temple of Time and said good-bye to everyone as they rode of on horseback to Lake Hylia where they spent their honeymoon. They watched the stars that night and feel asleep in each other's arms. The next day they got up and had breakfast.

"I can't believe we are finally married. After all that has happened we still got to fulfill our destinies. Zelda, like you said no matter what happens we will be together forever. I LOVE YOU" Link said.

"I LOVE YOU to Link. Now we can begin our lives together. Let's get going back to Hyrule Castle" Zelda said.

As they rode back on Epona, Zelda was sitting behind Link and holding on to him with a love grip so tight that Link couldn't even break it. When Zelda saw a vision of her father.

"Thank you, father," she said.

"Any time Zelda, any time" he said.

"Same here" Link said.

"You to, Link" he said and faded away.

They rode off into the sunset to the castle where they triumphed forever and peace reigned in Hyrule throughout the rest of their lives.

Epilogue

Link and Zelda remained the King and Queen of Hyrule for sixty years. They had a twin boy and a twin girl in which they named Link after his father and Zelda after her mother. Link grew up to be a fine hero just like his father but not quite as good. They had more evil to deal with over the course of their lives, including Ganon, but battle after battle Link defeated his enemies. They both, ironically, died on the same day at the same time. People came from all over to mourn for their loss but their son and daughter took the throne and ruled just as well as they did.

The power of love that Link and Zelda shared was too immense to compare to any other power known to man. They had fallen more and more in love the older they got. They were right; they did fulfill their destinies to love each other forever. Their spirits joined the Goddesses of Hyrule and helped them keep the balance between good and evil. They were known as the Twins. They were identical in every way and never left each other's side, even after death. The Chosen One's True Destiny, Link's, was to love and marry Zelda. Their love did happen even though it seemed impossible. I guess that is what you call destiny.

Quote From The Author

Legends are myths that people think are just stories of impossible things that can happen here on earth. Even the Legend of Zelda is just a myth and a game but if you have the power to believe then any thing is possible. Just because this legend doesn't happen now it doesn't mean something similar in the past couldn't have taken place. It may not have been in a place called Hyrule or the hero wasn't Link or the princess wasn't Zelda. It could have been same for all we know. So the next time you read a legend, whether from the past, present or future, remember legends exist if you believe. Believing is the power to see beyond our normal physical atmosphere. Take a look some time. I did and saw a true story that I wrote called "The Legend of Zelda: The Chosen One's True Destiny."
