Ganon's Tower

Chapter 1: His Awakening

"Quick, Jonathan! I think it’s time!" Rothra announced. Rothra was now 9 months pregnant, with her young son.

"Oh my heavens! I’ll get the luggage!" He panicked. "It’s okay, honey, everything will be fine!"

Rothra darted to the car, unlocking the door. She was interrupted by a guard, of the Hyrule Kingdom. "Put me down!"

"Rothra!!" Jonathan screamed. He ran after the guard, as he ran for the kingdom. Jonathan was just too slow, and walked to the kingdom, since he was just too tired to run anymore.

The guard dashed through the door, as Rothra was screaming her face off. The guard entered the kings’ chamber, along with his queen.

"Ah, the guest has arrived. Please, take a seat, milady." He spoke in a soft voice. But Rothra wouldn’t take a seat until she was spoken too.

"Why am I here? I’m just about to have my baby!" She screamed, as she held her belly. "Could some of you actually help me?"

"Guard call the nurses in." The guard darted through the door, and the king spoke to Rothra. "My lady, do you want to know why you are here?"

"Yes!" She exclaimed.

"My young knight, Link, is only 5 years old. I brought you here because of your husband. His past fights against other evil knights is why I want your son."

"My husband was a knight for Hyrule? He never told me that. Anyway, I’m not giving you my son." She said.

"My dear, we need Link and your son to help defend the rest of Hyrule. That evil pig, Ganondorf, and his assistant, Agahnim, have destroyed the city, and are creating havoc, trying to change the light world, into the dark world, with the Triforce. It depends up to your son and Link. Please help us.."

"Well, not until he’s older, like around 15 or 16. I don’t want him to fight at such a young age." After Rothra spoke, the nurse bursted in, and carried her away.

After she had left the chamber, the king thought. ‘It’s up to that boy and Link to save us.’ The king soon fell asleep on his throne as he dozed off.

"Deep breaths, madam." The nurse encouraged. "You don’t want to push too hard." She continued.

"Oww, oww!" She screamed in pain. "It’s coming!" The baby’s body except his feet were out. "Is it over yet?"

"Almost, one more push ought to do it." The nurse replied. Finally, the baby was out.

"Oh, he’s so beautiful." Rothra sighed with relief. "I think I’ll call him Pothrus." She sighed.

All of a sudden, from crying to even more crying, Pothrus screamed and kicked like crazy. Maybe he didn’t like that name.

"Pothrus, settle down!" She exclaimed.

"Madam, if I could give a suggestion to stop his crying. Maybe, he doesn’t like that name. How about my father’s name? He was a great knight, but perished in battle against Agahnim. His name was Matt Talon."

"Matt? Do you like that name, Matt?" She sighed.

Pothrus, or Matt, started giggling. He loved the name! The nurse and Rothra sighed with relief. Rothra stayed in the room for a couple of days, until she finally was strong enough to exit the chamber. Jonathan came one day.

"Honey, are you alright?" He asked her.

"I’m fine, dear. Jonathan, were you ever a knight?"

"Well, um, no?" He lied.

"LIAR! The king told me that you were a knight a long time ago! You never told me this!"

"I’m sorry dear. I was afraid if I told you, you would get upset when I went on some journeys." He sighed.

"Oh. That’s all right. I understand how worried you must’ve been." She finished.

When Rothra returned to the chamber, the king asked her what his name was.

"His name is Matt. Matt Ruins. He’s still young, so be careful with him. I want to stay here for a couple of years, until he is ready to be without me."

"That’s fine. I’ll have the guards construct a room for you and your family." The king continued. "This is Link, Matt’s future partner."

A small boy, with blonde hair, crept from behind the King’s throne. He shyly went to the Ruin’s. Rothra knelt down, so that Link could see Matt. He tickled Matt, and Matt laughed.

"I see that their friends already." The king said. "I have a feeling the boys will do fine." The king said. "With Link’s excellent fighting skills, and with Matt’s fighting skills, they should be a powerful punch for Ganon."

"I’m sure they will." Jonathan sighed.

"Would you like a tour of the kingdom so you can get used to the big kingdom?" The king asked the family.

"That would be nice, please." Jonathan asked.

Out popped a small fairy from a bottle the king had. "My name is Talitha, I’m the King’s so-called tour guide."

"Now, Talitha, remember, don’t be nosy, or you’re going back into your bottle." The king replied.

"I know sir." The fairy led them out of the room.

"This is the princess Zelda’s room. She is sleeping now, so you won’t get to meet her for awhile. This is her sister’s, or will be’s, room. The queen is also pregnant. What a coincidence, huh?"

"Yes, it’s a coincidence, isn’t it honey?" Rothra told Jonathan.

"Yes, dear."

"This is the door that leads to the garden and patio. And this over here is the dungeon hall, where we keep our most dangerous thieves. You probably don’t want to go over there, it get’s scary, even for the king."

"I understand why." Rothra replied. Matt was fast asleep, in Rothra’s arms.

"Now, if you’ll follow me to the eating room, we’ll see the cook’s who I must say are fantastic cooks."

"Yes, we’ll have to try that." Jonathan said.

After a couple of hours, the group was back in the king’s chamber.

"So, how was Talitha’s attitude?" The king asked Rothra.

"She was very well-behaved, I must say. She was very informative, and she was very nice and kind to us."

"Is that so, Talitha?"

"Yes, sir. Now, can I go on their mission?"

"You’re in their position, right now. But you have to keep this up for another 14 years or so." The king smiled.

"Oh, crap!" She yelled aloud. Rothra cupped her hands over Matt’s ears.

"Oh, I’m sorry, sir. I’ll do my best not to curse." She apologized.

"Back in the bottle, dear. Maybe another month or so will be good for you." The king held out the bottle, as Talitha flew in.

"So, would you like to see your room?" The king asked.

"Yes, that would be very nice, thanks." Jonathan replied.

The king led them to the room, and they rested for awhile.

Back at the chamber, the king had a talk with Link.

"Now Link. Matt’s only a baby, so you can’t train with him until he is about eight years old. You can spar with your dummy for now." The king told him.

"Okay, your nobleness." Link knew a lot of english, and didn’t like to speak in Hyrulian. Link wore green mail, and had a shield. He wasn’t ready to kill himself with a sword yet.

"Very good, son. Now, I think princess Zelda is up, now. You can go play with her in the garden, if you want."

"Okay, sir." Link exited the door.

‘Maybe the daughter’s should go with him. They’d be a good influence on the boys, and they speak way better Hyrulian than them. And just maybe, Talitha will go with them.’

Chapter 2: Matt, 8 Years old

I yawned as I awoke from my bed. My parents were still sleepy. After all, it
was only 5AM. Yeah, I knew it was crazy. I woke up extra early just to
secretly spar with Link.

I pulled my blue mail over my head, and laced my boots on. I had secretly
been training like this the past 3 years, since I was 5. I wanted to be
ready for Ganon, that evil pig. I wanted to go on this journey, and live.

I was now five, and Princess Erika, Zelda's sister was now 7 years old. She
was born a couple of weeks after me. They were known as the Sinister
Sisters, as Link and I called them. They just called us the Boring Boys.

I silently shut the door behind me. I tiptoed to Link's room. I knocked on
the door. Link was already dressed in his usual green mail, while I was
wearing my blue mail. He wore a new pair of boots, black.

"Nice boots." I complimented.

"Yeah, thanks. My mom gave me them before she left me and my dad. But now my
dad died when I was small. Ganon killed him, of course. That's why I am
here. Training, here in the kingdom, so that one day, I'll show Ganon I'm
strong."

"That's very nice. Now, pull out the dummy." I commanded to him. Link pushed
the switch, and the dummy came down from the ceiling.

"Oh, I added some more dummies for us." He pressed another switch, and about
twenty dummies came roaring down from the ceiling. I ducked as they came
down.

We started flailing at the dummies, and occasionally on each other. Link was
now eight years old, his birthday was a week ago.

"Hey, do you want to go to the kitchen and get something to eat?" Link asked
me.

"Yeah, I'm so hungry." I replied.

We raced out of the room, and went to the kitchen. Link was behind me, as we
opened the kitchen door. I bumped into someone- Erika.

"What're you doing here?" We spoke at the same time. Out popped Zelda behind
Erika.

"We're hungry." Erika replied. "I couldn't wait for breakfast."

"Yeah, we were sparring downstairs, and now we're hungry." I spoke. Link
elbowed me. "What was that for?!" I shouted at Link.

"Don't you know that Erika is such a tattle-tale? She's going to tell on
us!" He whispered in my ear.

"Oooohhhh.." I moaned.

"You were sparring downstairs? Didn't daddy tell you that you couldn't spar
until Matt was eight? I'm tellin'!" Erika yelled.

"Yeah, well, we're telling on you for sneaking into the kitchen, and getting
some food!" Link protested.

"So? Daddy knows this!" Zelda yelled. "Plus, he loves his daughter's more
than his young knights."

"For your information, we're the knights that'll save your butts when Ganon
and his henchmen overcome what's left of Hyrule!" I shouted back.

"Ooohhh, Ganon this, Ganon that. I bet Erika and I could whip his butt with
our magic, no problem." Zelda shot back.

"Maybe for one little knight." Link shot back.

"You mean a hundred-thousand knights." Erika continued. "Come on, Zel, let's
go see what the boys are doing downstairs." As they ran with their Hyrulian
desserts.

"Hey! Those are my chocolate cakes!" Link ran after them, as I pulled him
back.

"Let's get some food first, then we'll go after them." As I pulled him into
the kitchen. We stocked up on some food, then ran downstairs.

"Hey, look, Zelly, I'm a knight!" As Erika carried Links' sword and started
flailing it around. "Oops!" As the sword fell from Erika's hand.

Just as Link and I were downstairs, Link dropped the food, and raced for his
sword, as it was heading for Zelda.

"I got it!" He yelled as he grabbed his sword, and landed on his back.

"The food! The food! All gone, good one Link. What's more important, our
precious food, or the princess?" I asked him.

"My sword." He replied, as he got up. He just started eating the food from
the ground. It was still good.

"Don't ever, ever, fool around with my sword." Link said, as he chomped on
some of the food he had.

"Where did you get all these dummies?" Zelda asked, as she examined a dummy.

"Oh, Link said he got it from all the stuffing in your dolls." I said, as I
munched on some salad.

"What was that?" As Zelda started latching her hand on to my throat, as I
tried to swallow the food.

I made choking noises, but managed to get it out, "Link, stole your, dolls,
and used their, stuffing." Afterwards, Zelda finally let go. Zelda stormed
after Link, but Link was gone.

"Where'd he go?" Zelda asked. She looked from the room.

'Matt, I'm up here, on the ceiling.' Link telepathically spoke to me. I
looked at the ceiling, as I saw Link waving to me. I jumped onto the ceiling
with him, without Erika and Zelda noticing.

"Now, where'd Matt go?" Erika asked.

"Matt, I got to sneeze!" Link whispered to me.

"Don't!" I whispered. But it was too late. Link sneezed, and we were found.

"Use the magic." Erika concentrated, along with Zelda. They magically pulled
us down. We hit hard against the mat floor.

"Ow." I moaned.

"Serves you boys right for teasing us." Zelda laughed evilly, like Ganon's.

"Good one, link. Really smart." I moaned to him.

"Aw, shaddup." He shot back.

It was brunch when we came back. We were greeted by the king. "Where were
you boys and you too, girls?"

"They were sparring downstairs! Punish them, daddy!" Erika tattled.

"Is that so? Well, then good job, boys." The king said.

"Did you just say, good job boys?" Link asked. "I thought we weren't to spar
until Matt was eight years old!"

"Ganon's been taking over the land. I think we're going to have you boys go
on the mission early. In another 3 or so years, you're going."

"3?" Link and I said at the same time.

"That's right. Come on, brunch is on." We went to the room.

I quickly gobbled it down, along with Link. We were going to go spar some
more.

"Matt, there's a hatch where the king's knights keep their armor. Come on,
let's go get it!" He yelled, as we went to the hatch. Link opened the hatch,
and we stepped in.

"This here, is for armor. You take the blue mail, and I'll take this new
one, the Gold mail."

I pulled it over, and looked into the mirror. "Hmm, that looks pretty good."

"And over here, is your shield storage. Pick a shield you like." I looked
around, and made my decision. I picked up a Royal Blue shield. Link picked
up the gold shield.

"Now, we all have the same swords, so here, take one." As he tossed me a
sword. I grabbed it, and tried it out.

"Now, we have to go visit Lance, the wizard." Link followed me down to a
dark corridor, where we entered a door.

"Greetings, Link and Matt. I have been expecting you."

"Yeah, hi, um, Lance, we need a map, and a lantern."

"Yes, here it is." As he rummaged through his belongings. "This was the
king's when he was a knight, so be careful."

"Yes, we will." Link took the lantern, and I took the map.

"Thanks, Lance." I said to him, as he disappeared from sight.

Link and I ran out of the corridor, and went upstairs. We went to our rooms,
and I put my stuff     under my bed.

I went to the chamber, where we would train for long hours, and we would
rest occasionally and go outside and get some fresh air.

We were outside, and were spying on Erika and Zelda, as they were picking
flowers from the garden.

"So, Zelda, do you have a crush on anyone?" Erika asked.

"No, not really. I've never been outside the kingdom. The only boys I really
know are Link and Matt. Matt is way too young for me, so it's pretty much
Link who's my friend."

"Oooh, Zelda likes you." I whispered to Link.

"Shut up!" As he whispered to me and elbowed me.

"Why, do you like anyone?" Zelda asked Erika.

"Oh yeah, I like Matt." Erika said sarcastically. "He's the only boy who's
my age. Link is so not for me."

"Does that mean she likes me?" I asked Link.

"Don't ask me. Come on, let's go spar a little more before we have to go to
bed. I want to be ready."

"It's always 'I want to be ready' and 'Ganon, that pig!' Isn't it?" I told
him, as we crept back to the room.

Chapter 3: Ganon’s Triumph

"Mwahahaha!" Ganon laughed evilly, as he conquered another land of Hyrule. This time, it was the Desert Palace. Ganon was slowly turning every part of Hyrule into the Dark World. Ganon was evil, no doubt about it.

"You!" Ganon pointed to a knight. "Go to Hyrule Kingdom, and destroy it!" He yelled out the orders.

The knight sped off to the palace, and Ganon ate his meal. "First, I conquered Tower of Hera, and now, the Desert Palace. Now, all I need is to conquer Hyrule Palace.

"Your evilness, I have just gotten word from Hyrule that the king has been planning to send two of the kingdom’s best knights. This shouldn’t be a problem for you, your evilness. Shall I send a couple hundred knights for them?"

"No, that won’t be necessary, yet. Keep an eye out for the two. I want this plan to be perfect in my quest for the Triforce. When it grants my wishes, I will have Princess Zelda and Erika at my feet! I will have the king bow down to me!"

"Now, don’t get to confident sir. These boys are only eleven and eight year olds. We don’t need to keep an eye out for them, unless they become a problem." Agahnim replied.

"I guess you’re right. Go take a rest. We have to conquer Hyrule Castle. We should be done in a couple of years or so."

"Yes, your evilness." Agahnim disappeared, and was gone from sight.

Back at the palace…

"Your highness, there’s a member of Ganon’s gang of thieves approaching. Shall I dispose of him?"

"Yes, but take Link and Matt with you. They might want to know what they’re up against." The king replied from his high throne.

"Yes sir." The guard dashed out of the room, and went to the Sparring room.

"So, what’s it like being eleven?" I asked Link, as we were sparring during a conversation. The guard suddenly pulled us out. "Hey, what the…" I exclaimed.

"We’re going to go see a knight from Ganon’s thieves." The guard announced.

"Well, you could at least put us down." Link asked quietly. The guard slowly put us down, and we dashed out t the door.

"I have been sent by Ganon to destroy the defenses of Hyrule Castle. I will destroy you!" The knight lunged at the guard.

"Stay back, boys!" He yelled, as he went after him. Their swords met, and they fought hard. Then, a twist happened. The knight stabbed the guard in the leg, and Link and I were all alone.

"Run, boys!" The guard yelled as he held his bleeding leg.

Link pulled out his sword, and I pulled out mine. We went after the knight. Link was tall, and could go for the chest. Me, I was still small, so I went after the legs.

Instead of using my sword, I dropped it and jumped onto the back of the knight. Link’s sword was kicked away, and was using his bare hands.

I was now on his shoulders, covering his eyes, as Link flailed his legs at the knight until he went down. Then, he pulled me over his shoulders and I landed on top of Link.

The knight had us now. He took his sword, and Link and I closed our eyes.

ZAP! A beam of light came from the kingdom. It was Zelda, saving us. "You guys will never learn, will you?" She laughed.

"We will." We sighed as we got up. We pulled up the guard, and carried him to the nurse.

"So, how was it?" The king asked us.

"Um, it was, fine, your highness. Yeah, Link, Zelda and I were great."

"Zelda? Zelda helped you?"

"Well, not really, well, kind of, I mean, yeah well, she pretty much saved our lives, that’s it. Well, I think I better be going to bed." I yawned, and headed for bed.

"Oh really? Well, I think Zelda and Erika might need to go with you on your journey."

I stopped in shock, and turned around. "You’re kidding, aren’t you, your highness?" Link assured. "I mean, I don’t need girls hanging out with Matt and I. We just had a little side track, that’s all."

"They’re going with you, just in case you need back up. I’m also sending Talitha with you. She’ll be your guide whenever you need her."

"Which will be when?" I whispered to Link, as Link laughed with me.

"That’s final, now, go to bed. You have a lot of training to do in the next three years."

Back at Ganon Tower….

"Oh no! My powers! Where are they?" Ganon and Agahnim demanded, in shock.

"We’re having some technical problems, your highness. It seems that our magic powers are empty. We will have to charge our magic. That will take awhile." The knight answered.

"And how long will that take?" Agahnim asked him.

"It could take up to another ten years, since our magic mirror has broken. We will have to find another magic mirror. For now, we’re stuck in the Dark World."

"You fools!" Ganon yelled, as he zapped the knight. "This is what will happen if you don’t get to work!"

"Agahnim, find some magic in the Dark World."

"But what about my rest?" Agahnim asked.

"There is no rest, now. Now get going!" He yelled. Agahnim disappeared, searching for magic. "The things I have to do…"

"Daddy, are Erika and I going on Link’s mission with Matt to defeat Ganon?" Zelda asked her dad as he tucked her in goodnight.

"Yes, honey. But I want you and Erika to be careful. I don’t want to lose my most precious girls to a silly war."

"Silly? We’ll beat the pants off Ganon!" Zelda yelled.

"That’s very nice, dear. Goodnight, my sweet." The king kissed her goodnight, and kissed Erika goodnight.

"Son, you shouldn’t be over-confident about Ganon." My dad told me.

"I’m not over-confident. I just think with Link, Erika, Zelda and I, that we can defeat Ganon. But what do I do to get stronger?" I asked.

"Well, this is a legend, but look out for these sorts of things. Long ago, it is said that hearts of all the knights and soldiers that died are spread across the land. If you touch a heart, you get stronger. So, you must look all over for this on your journey. And don’t be greedy; share with Link whatever you find. That goes for Zelda and Erika too."

"I know, dad. Goodnight." I slept soundly throughout the night.

Meanwhile, the king was having a talk with the wizard. "Now, Lance, are you sure you can mend their swords by next year? I want them to be more powerful."

"Don’t worry, your highness. The swords will be powerful, and could even be done in less than a year, so don’t worry." Lance assured.

"It’d better be. And, can you teach Zelda and Erika how to work magic properly and more efficiently?"

"I’m way ahead of you, your highness. I have some extra potions and magic I can give to Zel and Erika."

"Thank you, Lance. You are a much better wizard then when Agahnim betrayed me. I trusted him, but he used us, to work his dark magic, and then betray us for Ganon. Well, thank you, Lance."

"No problem, goodnight."

I awoke from the birds chirping in the morning. I was sleeping in, and my parents were all probably downstairs. ‘I don’t want to wake up, not now.’ I thought.

"Where is that knight that I sent to Hyrule?" Ganon asked Agahnim.

"He’s probably trying to get back into the Dark World, sir, or he’s been destroyed." Agahnim replied.

"Grr…Curse those kids." Ganon boiled. "I can not wait until we go back to the Light World. Those kids will be destroyed."

It was 11 o’clock when Zelda and Erika got up. They had went out to the garden to pick flowers. They were picking flowers.

"Come on, let’s go talk to them." Link urged as he tugged my arm.

"I don’t wanna…" I moaned. But Link pulled me in, and we were talking to them.

"So, how are you guys doing?" Link asked them in a cheerful mood.

"We’re fine. We’re just picking some flowers." Erika replied.

"We see that…" I moaned. "I’m going to go spar a little downstairs. I’ll see you later, Link." I entered the door to the kingdom, and went for the room.

"Well, I guess I’ll go see you later. See you later, ladies." As Link followed me down to the room.

"Did you see that, Zelda? Link was so flirting with you!" Erika motioned to her.

"Nah, he doesn’t like me. I’m sure he likes someone else better." Zelda said, as she picked a rose up from the roots. "If he ever did, I would go out with him in a heartbeat."
