Ganon's Tower

Denying The Past

One year since he died. One year since she cried. One year
since she was imprisoned in the Castle. One year since she thought her life
to be over. Six months since she had recovered from his death.

Link, an ex-Calatian, but Biologically a Hylian, had fallen in love
with the Prince of Hyrule, Eric. He had brown hair streaked with blonde
stripes, and the prettiest green eyes she'd ever seen. But he was all a part
of the past now. Eric, the only person she thought she could ever love, had
died on a mysterious planet when Ganondorf Dragmire had killed him.
Things pretty much went back to normal after Eric's death. She still
had her "newer" little home in the Kokiri Forest among all of the other
kids, where her grandfather use to live, and had her fairy, Navi. But one
thing wasn't the same. Eric was gone.
She thought that she was going to marry him someday. They would've had
four kids in total, three of them boys and one a little girl. She remembered
all of their talks about marriage. It should've been a happy and exciting
time, but instead ended in tragedy. After six months of severe depression,
she overcame it. She was smarter and more agile. She was 16, and officially
old enough to get another boyfriend!

Link put on a pair of paints that ran a little short of her ankles,
and they were tan, and are what we call "capris." She put on a white tank
top, and decided to go hang out near Lake Hylia for a while.
She dipped her finger into the crystal waters and rippled her
reflection. Not that she looked too swell as a messed up mass in the water.
She was lonely. She still missed Eric a lot, and occassionally cried over
him. 365 days earlier, she was talking to his spirit, and then he told her
he had to descend to Heaven. It was all almost like a dream, talking to her
dead boyfriend. But that was all in the past. Today it was a new era and a
time to move on.
She was deep in thought when someone tapped her shoulder. "Exucse
me!" He called. She whipped around and looked up at his crystal blue eyes,
and his brown hair. "Nice to meet you. I'm Kyle," he greeted, and stuck out
his hand. She smiled kindly, and gently shook his hand. "What's your name?"
"Link," she answered.
"Beautiful name for a girl like you. Heyyy, you're that kid from Calatia
that supposedly killed the Prince of Hyrule, right?"
"I never killed him," she answered a bit crossly.
"I'm sorry..." He paused. "Are you doing anything tonight?"
"You're a bit quick to have a 10 second long conversation and then romance
me." She said, feeling a bit disgusted with this young man.
"I'm sorry, but you just seem like a gentle young lady that knows where
she's going in life."
"Don't we all know where we're going right now?"
"You're upset," he said.
"So what if I am? It's not like it's anyone else's business but mine."
"Listen, I loved the Prince of Hyrule and it really upset me when you
mentioned him." There was a painful silence.
"Will you go out with me?"
"Yes," she answered. She was actually getting ahead of things and moving on.
She had a new boyfriend, and hopefully, to stay!

SOME YEARS LATER....
Why are you so nervous? You've known this man for a while, and
you know that Eric would have wanted you to marry some great guy like him
instead of living all by yourself for the rest of your life. This guy isn't
so bad. He's really nice to me. Then why am I standing at the back of the
room like a fool?
In all of my time with Eric, I always envisioned myself walking
down the aisle with him, marrying him, and having some kids of our own. I
guess that my predictions have proved false, though.
Some would have their daddy's eyes, while others would have my
hair; I always thought that that was how the dice would roll. Fate has a
strange way of changing people's lives or affecting them forever. It
certainly changed mine.
I still wonder why the Goddesses took him away from me. Although
he is gone, and there would have been a terrible rest if there hadn't been a
ruler, the King adopted a four-year-old son, and with that, named him
'Aaron.' Hopefully, his son will rule for a long time, although he is truly
not of Royal Blood.
You can't stand here forever. People will start staring at you.
You knew that today was the day, so you have to get it over with. You love
this guy. Or so you thought when you met him
.
Heartily, the Hylian, Female, Hero, Link, stepped forth to marry
the man of her dreams.
THE END (and you can be sure that she lived happily ever
after!)
