GBA Zelda Info!

A source of ours has given us some exclusive information about Zelda for GBA!  Yes, a Zelda game is being made for GBA.  The game will be somehow related to the Zelda game being made for Gamecube.  Although we don't have the details yet, speculation says that the game could use the Link cable to link the games similar to how the Oracle games linked, or they could be linked simply by one game continuing where the other one left off.   We have also learned that the game will feature cartoonish graphics, similar to the Cel-shaded graphics that will be in the Gamecube game.  Although none of this information has been confirmed by Nintendo, our source is a person working in a videogames store who received this information from a Nintendo rep. We aren't sure if the game will be shown at E3, or even Spaceworld, but we will keep you posted.  Ganon's Tower will have more information on this as soon as it becomes available.

Gamecube Zelda Rumor

A Nintendo representative said that it is possible that Gamecube Zelda will remain cartoonish, but will be more colorful than the demo shown at Spaceworld, 2001.  If this happens, the game will probably look like a 3D Link to the Past.  Although this isn't confirmed yet, it is very possible that this will happen.  Ganon's Tower will bring you more information as it becomes available.

Squaresoft to Develop for Gamecube and GBA!

OSAKA (Nikkei)--Nintendo Co. has agreed to resume procuring the popular "Final Fantasy" video game software for its game consoles from Square Co. after a five-year hiatus, The Nihon Keizai Shimbun learned Friday.

Nintendo, whose game machines have been most popular among schoolchildren, hopes obtaining Square game software will help its console sales spread among higher age groups.

Under the agreement, Nintendo President Hiroshi Yamauchi will provide funds to a Square-affiliated game production company to help it develop software in the "Final Fantasy" series for Nintendo machines.

The money will come from Fund Q, a fund Yamauchi set up in January to help finance software development. The affiliate is due to be founded by Square and Akitoshi Kawazu, one of the game's developers, by the end of March.

The deal calls on the Square affiliate to produce software allowing users of two Nintendo consoles -- the GameCube and Game Boy Advance -- to play together by the end of the year.

The Nintendo Super Famicon machine was once popular with the help of software in the "Final Fantasy" series. In 1996, however, Square switched to supplying new "Final Fantasy" titles for consoles made by Sony Corp. group company Sony Computer Entertainment Inc.

Square will continue to provide "Final Fantasy" games to Sony, even while offering a version for Nintendo.

Gamecube Zelda Update

IGN has reported that in a recent interview, Shigeru Miyamoto stated that he doesn't want to show more of Zelda until people can play it for themselves, because their focus will be entirely on graphics instead of the game's outstanding gameplay.  He also stated that game game will definitely be playable at E3 this May.  He also said the game is coming along at a pace where it should be ready for release in 2002.  Ganon's Tower will bring you any future information about Gamecube Zelda as it becomes available!
