5/22 Update E3: Zelda and Mario to Use Pro Logic II Both Mario Sunshine and Gamecube Zelda will be using Dolby Pro Logic II for their audio recordings. This means 5 different sound channels will be used for the best surround sound quality possible. If you have a good surround sound stereo system, this will be a nice treat for you! Source: Nintendo 5/20 Update E3: Zelda Storyline Info! We have the first tidbits of information regarding the storyline for Gamecube Zelda! According to a press release Nintendo of America gave earlier this morning at E3, Link is on a quest to save his sister, not Zelda. It is unknown at this time if the game will take place in Hyrule or some other land, and who the main villain will be, but when we find out we will bring you all the information! Source: IGN 5/16 Update Zelda Release Pushed Back IGN Cube has released information concerning the launch date of the Legend of Zelda for the NIntendo GameCube. They say that the game will ont be released this December, but rather in February of 2002. Nintendo has not said anything about the change in dates, but we are expected to hear something at this years Electronic Entertainment Exposition (E3) or shortly after it. Should the date cahnge be confirmed, Nintendo's winter line up will lose a serious money maker and no doubt may suffer this holiday season. Source: IGN Cube 5/12 Update Zelda Compilation More Likely The Zelda compilation rumors that have been going around are appearing to possibly be true. Although there is no official word from Nintendo yet, the UK official Nintendo magazine had an article stating that unconfirmed reports say that a new non-cel shaded Zelda game is in the works for Gamecube and it will come in part of a compilation. Sources claim the game will be a re-make of OoT with Gamecube graphics and some elements added to the game that weren't possible on the N64 version. The game will supposedly contain 3 discs, one for the game itself, another for a behind the scenes documentary, and another with Zelda music. Although we have no official word from Nintendo on this, we will keep you updated with any further information on this story!
5/11 Update Link to the Past Re-Make for GBA! We have received word that Nintendo and Capcom are teaming up once again to bring a remake of the Super NES classic, Zelda: A Link to the Past to GBA! We are unsure at this time whether the game will be exactly the way it was on the SNES, or if it will be changed a little. There is a possibility that this game will be shown at E3, but neither Nintendo or Capcom has commented on this yet. If the game is shown at E3, we will bring you all the details. More as it develops. Source: PlanetGamecube 5/3 Update More Gamecube Zelda We have a few more Gamecube Zelda screenshots to comment on today.
The same screenshot we saw yesterday, but in better resolution. Link appears to be inside a dungeon with a couple of Goyra-like enemies in the room with him. He has a short sword equipped, probably the Kokiri Sword or a sword similar to that. His enemies appear to have a long sword or spear like object strapped to their backs.
A close-up of Link. You can see the slight change in his eyes here, he looks ready to attack something. The shield looks similar to the one he used in Link to the Past and Ocarina of Time.
A close-up of a new item in this game. It appears to be a looking glass of some sort. This will probably be used to either look far into the distance or it could possible be the lens of truth, just with a new design. We'll have to wait for E3 to find out. With a few weeks remaining until E3, it's nice to have a little new Zelda information. What lies ahead for the game? We'll have to wait until E3 later this month to find out. Ganon's Tower will bring you all the latest information on Zelda for Gamecube, so make sure to check back! Source: IGN 5/2 Update Link's New Eyes! We have the first screenshots of Link's new eyes! Not as much changed as we expected but I decided to post the screenshots anyways.
