11/22 Update

Ura-Zelda and Ocarina of Time to be Included with US Version of Gamecube Zelda!

We have confirmation that the Ura-Zelda and Ocarina of Time bonus disc that Japanese players will receive with Gamcube Zelda is coming to the United States as well.  Nintendo is expected to announce this along with some other big news in the January bonus issue of Nintendo Power.  The American title for Gamecube Zelda will likely be revealed at this time as well.  We have also learned that Famitsu Weekly was incorrect in saying that the Japanese bonus discs would be limited to 100,000.  Instead they will be available to ALL people who pre-order the game.

Game Boy Player to be Introduced in May!

In May, 2003 Nintendo will introduce the Game Boy Player, a device that plugs into the bottom of your Gamecube.  With it, Game Boy, Game Boy Color, and Game Boy Advance games can be played on a TV using either the Gameboy Advance or the Gamecube's controller to control the action.  A price has not been announced yet, but the device will probably cost less than $100.

11/13 Update

Japanese Zelda Bonus!

Planet Gamecube is reporting that Famitsu Weekly revealed an amazing bonus for Japanese gamers who pre-order Zelda: Kaze no Takuto (Gamecube Zelda).  There will be a bonus disc including Ocarina of Time, and Ura-Zelda, which was made for the 64DD, but never released.  The bonus disc quantity is limited to about 100,000 discs, and in addition to the games, will include F-Zero and Biohazard 4 (Resident Evil) videos. We don't know if Ocarina of Time or Ura-Zelda have been graphically upgraded to take advantage of Gamecube's power.  Pre-orders begin on November 28th, however, and this would be a good title to import.  It is currently unknown if American or European gamers will have a similar deal or not.  We have a scan of the Famitsu article, although it's in Japanese, it definitely proves this to be true.  We will have more information on this as it becomes available.

Link to the Past Info

We have some new, exciting information about Zelda: A Link to the Past for GBA.  We already know that the game features the original SNES game and the Four Swords will use new dungeons, graphics and music, but we now know about some bonuses hidden inside the game.  In The Four Swords, a new dungeon will be created at random each time the game is played, meaning there will always be at least one dungeon you've never played before.  When a new ability is earned in LttP, it becomes available in Four Swords.  After the final boss is defeated in both Four Swords and LttP, a new dungeon is unlocked in LttP.  After earning 10 medals in Four Swords, a riddle quest will be unlocked in LttP, when that is completed, a new sword move can be learned, and items for decorating Link's house are unlocked.  We've also learned that the boss of the Four Swords will be a wizard named Vaati.  Although we don't have more information at this time, it will be interesting to see who this wizard is, and what powers it possesses.  We will keep you updated on this story if any more information becomes available.
