The Legend of Zelda Timeline

Please note

None of these dates are "official". I made them up to set some kind of time schedule to help explain how the legend fits together. If anyone sees any problem, let me know.

Special days on the Hylian calendar

Day of the Triforce. When a Day of the Triforce occurs, for that one day of that year all the Triforces' powers cease to work. A Day of the Triforce occurred once a decade. One occurred in 1140 Hylian Reckoning, and I believe the Day occurs one day a year every "zero" year (0, 10, 20, 30, etc). The only documented Day of the Triforce can be found in The Legend of Zelda comic issue 5.

Evil Power Day. This day, which occurs "Once a lifetime", lets all of the evil magic in Hyrule be harnessed by one wizard. This day was never named in the comics, so I gave it the name "Evil Power Day" (sounds simple enough). Ganon tried to unsuccessfully blast Link with a spell containing all of the evil magic, but it backfired in 1140 Hylian Reckoning. The only documented Evil Power Day can be found in The Legend of Zelda comic issue 2.

0 Hylian Reckoning (H.R.)

The Goddesses Din, Nayru and Farore create Hyrule, the Golden Land, the five races, and the Triforce. The Goddess give the races a code of laws and wisdom and depart to the heavens. The five races, the Hylians, the Zora, the Goron, the Kokiri, and the Gerudo began their civilizations.

75 H.R.

The great Sage named Rauru builds the Temple of Light to guard the entrance to the Golden Land.

154 H.R.

The Book of Mudora is written.

525 H.R.

All the Hyrulean civilizations, except for the Kokiri, declare war on one another and battle.

575 H.R.

A great Hylian King stops the Hyrulean tribes from fighting, and a time of peace takes effect. Ganondorf Dragmire begins his search for the Triforce.

575 H.R. - 585 H.R.

Ganondorf Dragmire and his band of thieves find the Triforce. The Golden Land is turned into the Dark World. The Master Sword is forged, the Imprisoning War is fought, and the Seven Sages seal Ganon in the Dark World.

762 H.R.

Link II and Zelda II are born in Hyrule.

774 H.R.

Many disasters suddenly plague Hyrule.

775 H.R.

Agahnim appears in Hyrule stops the disasters and then secretly overthrows the King. Princess Zelda II contacts Link II telepathically. His great journey begins. Link II overthrows Agahnim and Ganon, recovering the Triforce.

776 H.R.

Link II travels around the world, finally getting shipwrecked.

905 H.R.

The Grindle-Morian War is fought (Perhaps-Mythical).

1068 H.R.

Impa is born in Hyrule.

1079 H.R.

King Harkinian is born in Hyrule.

1123 H.R.

Link III is born in Calatia. Zelda III is born in Hyrule.

Comic series

1136 H.R.

Ganon openly declares himself and steals the Triforce of Power from the people of Hyrule.

1137 H.R.

Zelda III hides the Triforce of Wisdom from Ganon. Ganon captures Zelda III and imprisons her in Death Mountain. Impa finds and convinces Link III to save Zelda III. Link III recovers the Triforce of Wisdom, defeats Ganon, recovers the Triforce of Power, and saves Zelda III.

Z1, "Molblin's Magic Spear"

1139 H.R.

Link III recovers the Triforce of Courage and awakes Zelda (?) from a sleeping spell.

1140 H.R.

Ganon returns and again steals the Triforce of Power. Link III and Zelda III go on many adventures to recover it. Day of Evil Power occurs, as well as a Day of the Triforce.
