Name and Picture How to Defeat

Horsehead

Horsehead is completely covered in body armor except for his head.  Jump up and hit him in the head with your sword over and over.

Helmethead

Helmethead should be defeated by jumping up and hitting him in the head with your sword.  The first two times you do this, it will knock off his helmet.  The helmets will fly around the room shooting energy balls at you.  Just dodge these, and continue to hit him in the head with your sword.

Ironknuckle

To defeat Ironknuckle, Link should use the Downward Thrust and hit his sword in the head.  After enough damage is done, he dismounts his horse, and link should get right next to Ironknuckle, and start jabbing his sword at him, but don't always jab at the same place.  The trick is to attack while standing and ducking down so that he can't block every attack with his shield.

Carock

To defeat Carock, all Link needs to do is cast the reflect spell, and reflect Carock's magic spells back at him.  After a few hits, Carock is done for.

Gooma

To defeat Gooma, Link should dodge the spiked ball that Gooma throws at him, and then run up to Gooma, and hit him with his sword.  Immediately step back to avoid getting hit with the spiked ball again.

Barba

To defeat Barba, Link needs to use the Jump spell.  When Barba comes out of the lava, Link should jump up and hit him in the head with his sword.  The shield spell helps here also

Thunderbird

Thunderbird is actually a mini-boss, but many people have trouble defeating him.  When Thunderbird first appears, he is red-colored, and invulnerable to Link's attacks.  Link should cast the Thunder spell, and Thunderbird will turn blue, and his face will be exposed.  Next, Link should cast the Jump spell (shield helps also if you have the magic available).  After casting these spells, Link should jump up and hit thunderbird in the face with his sword.  After each hit, Thunderbird will drop more and more fire at Link, so be careful to dodge it.  It is best to concentrate on dodging the fireballs, and only attack Thunderbird when you can do so without getting hit by any fireballs, since the boss of the game is fought immediately after him.

Link's Shadow

The final boss of the game is Link's Shadow.  He is relatively easy to defeat.  If you have enough magic left, cast the Shield spell just in case, but really all you have to do is stand in the left-hand corner of the screen, duck down, and jab your sword at Link's shadow.  He is stupid enough to keep running at you even though he gets hit almost every time.  After defeating Link's Shadow, you will have beaten the game!
